The 'R' Crew...Bismarck Family Photographer

I LOVE photographing this family.  It's my third year and every year it gets better.  They are so fun and sweet....and up for anything!  I wanted to try the neat buildings off Main St. and they were all for it!  I didn't even know what they would be wearing but it fit PERFECTLY with the setting.  Oh...and me.  Yes, I matched.  We even got a picture of it, per Big Sister's request.  I think it's the only time one of my clients INSISTED I be in a shot.  Love her!

Such handsome boys!

Her daddy is a hunter.  I just thought I'd throw that out there.  ;)

There are no words...

I have some mutual friends with this sweet family but this session was our first meeting.  I had heard lots of wonderful things said about them.  And, let me just say, there are not enough words to describe them and their kindness.  Seriously...they are like a warm ray of sunshine...on Christmas morn...with the smell of chocolate chip cookies in the air.  Too much?  Okay, enough with the love fest...time for some pictures.  :)

Sweet Baby Girl C - Bismarck Baby Photographer

I wish I could do newborn blog posts in smell-o-vision.  Ahh...such a sweet smell.  This little girl is so precious.  Dainty and petite, too!

And the pink...I swoon.

And he's ONE! Bismarck Baby Photographer

This was my second session with this little guy...although it feels like I've known him much longer.  He's my little buddy and always gives me a smile.  I don't even have to bribe him.  ;)

Of course for his birthday, he needed a smash cake!!!

But, the biggest surprise was that he didn't really want to dig in.  It took some forcing from mom, but he finally got in there and had a few bites!

I had such a fun time with you, little man!  Happy birthday!

Anything More Beautiful than a Newborn?

Really...is there anything more perfect than a newborn?  This little one was so excited to have me over.  He couldn't even sleep...

But that's okay.  He is so adorable with those grayish blues! I was happy to get some shots before he fell fast asleep.

Even his frowny face is adorable!

Midsession, big sister decided to give us her best impression of a newborn during a photo shoot.  How right on is she?

But, we outlasted him!  :)  A newborn can only take so much.

 Pure sweetness!

Return from Vacation...

You know how people so often come back from vacation saying, "Ah, I need a vacation to recover from my vacation!"  Well, we purposed to not be saying this after our family vacation this year.  And I'm glad to say, it worked!

Our kids are getting older and my oldest is in school now which takes up so much of our time.  My husband is a Pastor and our church life is always very busy.  I realized this summer how sand is just pouring through the hourglass instead of the small trickle of years past.  The older the kids get, (and the more we have) life seems to be picking up speed like a snowball!  So, this trip we planned and expected little EXCEPT to spend time with each other.  We prayed for the trip to be good for us individually and as a family unit.  And how the Lord blessed that prayer!  I'm so thankful we had some time in the mountains to relax.  We visited Colorado and LOVED everyday spent there.  The views were spectacular.   The time relaxing by the pool was so needed. And the shopping was not a disappointment either.

As I was away, I ignored many phone calls and messages.  I know without a doubt, I lost a few sessions because of this.  And my first reaction was disappointment.  I absolutely love doing photography and meeting families, working with kiddos.  It's a joy, not a job!  And perhaps much to your surprise, I like to edit too.  :)  But as my thoughts went back to the fun times my family had, I could not be disappointed for long!  I would gladly give up every session...and even my camera for those special memories with my family.  There will always be work to do, money to make, things to prepare, even hobbies to enjoy, BUT there won't always be little ones asking to play crazy 8 or I spy.  My kiddos won't always be falling asleep in the most uncomfortable positions in their carseats.  So, if I didn't return your message or phone call, I am sorry if that inconvenienced you...BUT...it was for a good reason.  :)

So, now, I am back at it...while still snuggling my babies, don't worry!
